The observatory's structure is based on typical aluminum CNC profiles (40x40mm) with walls and a roof made of 4 mm thick boards made of polyester-glass laminate. The high roof and opening front wall allow the telescope to be positioned above the roof drive line. Thanks to this, unlike many other structures of this type, it is possible to conduct observations even close to the horizon.

The most important advantage of the ScopeDome observatory, unlike typical wooden structures, is the lack of maintenance. Aluminum and polyester plates are virtually indestructible. If they get dirty, simply wash them with water and detergent and the observatory will look like new. Wood, especially untreated wood, usually begins to warp or rot after a few years.

When designing the observatory, we paid attention to tightness and protection against dust or water ingress. This is ensured by seals on all moving elements. Another advantage is the protection built into the roof roller system, which prevents it from being blown up by the wind. In any position (also when opening or closing), the roof is blocked by special pins moving inside the structural profiles. All support points of the observatory structure are height adjustable, which facilitates accurate leveling during construction.

When ordering an observatory, you will receive all the elements necessary for its construction - from the aluminum structure, through wall and roof panels, to each screw and gasket, along with detailed assembly instructions.

The structure and length of the elements are adjusted to the dimensions of a typical Euro pallet - this reduces transport costs and facilitates unloading. There is no need to order the entire observatory from us. You can order only the aluminum structure without laminate boards, only the roof guide rails, or even just the roof or automation elements (engine, card). The price list in our store includes only basic components. 

If the dimensions of the standard observatory we propose do not suit you (too large or too small), we will be happy to talk about a project tailored to your requirements. However, you should take into account additional fees related to the development of the project.
