The ScopeDome ROR RS 485 card is designed for controlling the motor responsible for opening and closing the Roll-Off-Roof observatory roof. It enables the operation of three-phase 230VAC motors (the same type used in ScopeDome domes). The card is equipped with roof open and close sensors, as well as an input for a telescope parking sensor.
The telescope parking sensor prevents the roof from closing. However, connecting the sensor is not required for the software to function correctly.
The roof can be controlled manually using the Open/Close buttons on the card or via a computer using the ScopeDome ROR driver.
A single card can support either two motors in parallel with a maximum power of 120W each or one motor with a power of up to 400W.
The driver controlling the card can simultaneously manage three ROR RS485 cards connected to it. This allows the automation of observatories with three separate roof sections that need to be opened in a specific sequence.
